April 4, 2024 - Shameless Audacity

Deuteronomy 26:1-27:26

Luke 10:38-11:13

Psalm 76:1-12

Proverbs 12:15-17

Luke 11:5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Have you ever felt like you were praying to a closed door? Maybe you feel like you should not keep praying the same thing over and over again because you don't want to "bother" God. Or have you prayed for so long that you think the answer is just "no"? It could be that you think why should I pray, God know what is going on and what I need. Jesus tells us that we need to pray without ceasing and with all our hearts. Don't hold back when we pray and don't stop praying. Cam had always taught that the word for "ask" is with persistence. It means ask and keep on asking and "seek" and "knock" are the same. Seek and keep on seeking. Knock and keep on knocking. So, don't give up on your prayer. If it does not contradict the word of God then we should pray and keep on praying "shameless audacity".
