August 31, 2024 -I'm Not Home Yet

JOB 37:1-39:30

2 CORINTHIANS 4:13-5:10

PSALM 44:9-26

PROVERBS 22:13

2Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

As much as I look forward to Jesus's return or when I am taken home there is no need to be sad about the state of this world. Or to be bothered by my aching, aging body or any illness or struggle I must endure. There is nothing that can befall me in this life that should cause me to lose heart. Because each day I am being renewed that I might press on. As long as I keep my eyes fix on heaven all that I endure will be credited to me as righteousness and be stored up as eternal glory. Treasures in heaven. So, I will keep my eyes on what I cannot see with this limited human eye site but instead fix my eyes on what is unseen knowing that is my home. This life is temporary but heaven which is unseen is eternal. I can endure until my time to meet Jesus comes because I know it is only for a short time in light of eternity.

2Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

May I not be at home in the body. My home is with the Lord. I want to live to please Him. When I get home and I stand at the judgment seat of Christ (the bema) I want to be found in you. I pray that I will hear well done good and faithful servant.

BTW I got the book "The Bema" if anyone wants to read it.
