LEVITICUS 7:1-8:36

LEVITICUS 8:36What has been done today was commanded by the Lord to make atonement for you. 35 You must stay at the entrance to the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and do what the Lord requires, so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded.”

36 So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord commanded through Moses.

Since we have been reading through Leviticus and Numbers as I read I would think I am probably not going to find anything to share. But then God who is faithful speaks. In fact on February 15th He reminded me to expect to hear from Him and I will. This morning as I read I caught myself falling back on my own understanding and thinking there would be nothing to write. But then I read these last words. Words that sum up to obedience. Moses, Aaron and all his sons are obedient. I am grateful that Jesus has freed us from the sacrificial system and death. He has done all the work of Aaron the high priest. He not only made the sacrifice but is the sacrifice. Our response should be that of humble surrender to all that He says. He has given us His word and put it in our hands. He has given us His Spirit to be able to understand it and that same Spirt gives us the ability to obey all that He has commanded. We have the blessing of obedience born out of love, gratitude and humility instead of out of fear and obligation.

Father I thank you for loving me. Thank you for showing Your love thru Jesus and all He had done. Thank you for giving me Your love in me for You and others by the Holy Spitit. I ask you to direct my thoughts, words and actions in obedience to You that I may recognize where you are working. And give me the boldness to do whatever you call me to do. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Amen. Thank you for teaching me how to love; for before I knew you, I knew not what love was. I was tossed about on the waves of desires, crafty and cunning only to feel the sting of man as I sunk over and over again under the water. But I, no better than man, for I knew only what the world would show me until you opened my eyes and entered my heart. Thank you for your willingness to step out of heaven and be shackled by flesh and surrounded by sin on every side. That which you cannot stand you immersed yourself in for my sake for you saw me drowning in my imperfection and yet stil…
