Hear as understanding raises her voice!
Showing up is not enough in and of itself. We need to be wise and equipped to respond when the time comes for Jesus return. And Wisdom is available to us as a continuous resource. In fact, God's wisdom calls out to us even when we are not looking for it. Jesus calls out to us and gives us the voice of understanding when we respond to the call with all our hearts. But we need to listen to it and to listen to it we need to hear it and to hear it we need to read it.
Stay daily in the word with a heart open to receive the wisdom of God and you will be given the ears to understand it so that you may respond and make prudent decisions that you might be prepared for the return of The Bridegroom.
The parable of the three servants who received the bag of silver made me think about the gifts that God gives us. the gifts that he intends to use to broaden his kingdom. if he gives you a gift of a beautiful voice, then use it to sing his praises to anyone who will hear so that they may know the joy of Christ. if he gives you the gift of listening, be sure to let all those who know you know that you are here for them should they need an ear. if he gives you the gift of service, then by all means, use it to serve others.
