Proverbs 19:13 A foolish child is a father’s ruin,
and a quarrelsome wife is like
the constant dripping of a leaky roof.
14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Last night I was a quarrelsome wife. I was tired and had my own ideas about how something should be handled so when Dave had a different idea that would have involved some sacrifice from me, I did not react well. It is bad enough that I was unloving to my husband, but it was in front of my children. When my daughter came to my husband's defense it made me even worse. So, I went to bed angry with and upset stomach and woke up with a teeth clenching headache.
I am grateful for this conviction. I will soon have an opportunity to apologize to my husband in front of my newly married daughter and hopefully set a better example of what it means to be a prudent wife.
Lord please fill my heart with love for my husband and may your Spirit guide me when you give me opportunity to repent for my words and actions. May it be a blessing to my marriage and my children.
