July 18, 2024 -Faith in Belief

1 CHRONICLES 26:12-27:34

ROMANS 4:13-5:5

PSALM 14:1-7

PROVERBS 19:17

Romans 4:15 because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

The purpose of the law. The law is there so that we can recognize that we are sinners and see that we are in need of a savior.

Romans 4:21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

I see this as the difference between belief and faith. I think you can have belief without faith but you cannot have faith without belief. You can believe in Jesus as the son of God who died on the cross to forgive your sins but not have the faith in it for your life. But to have faith you must first believe. Faith that God has the power to do what He promises. We have to have faith that our sins are not held against us, and that God is all knowing, all powerful, and all loving. When you have faith then you live like you believe it.

Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

His promises are numerous, but He does not promise that we will not suffer. However, our suffering will be used for good. When we have faith in His ability to use our struggles for good then it can produce perseverance, character, and hope. Living like we have faith in difficult times mean that we do persevere with Christ-like character and filled with hope.

Psalm 14:3 But no, all have turned away;

    all have become corrupt.

No one does good,

    not a single one!

Just like that we read these words not too long ago in Romans 3:12

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[c] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[d] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[e] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

This is a strengthening part of the bible, I have turned to times. Thank you Jesus for…
