June 21, 2024 -Dust Off Your Feet

2 Kings 1:1-2:25

Acts 13:42-14:7

Psalm 139:1-24

Proverbs 17:19-21

Acts 13:49 The word of the Lord spread through the whole region. 50 But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. 51 So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

There will always be opposition to the truth of the Gospel. There was a great response and acceptance of the Gospel but there was also opposition. When the Jewish leaders incited the powerful people in the region to appose them Paul and Barnabas did not argue they just left. They knew that God would use the new believers in the region to reach all that would receive Him. Also God could bring people to them as He saw fit. When we are called to a place or situation to reach people for Jesus sometimes it is received with great success and sometime we are shut down and turned away. The response to being turned away is to go. We know why we may have been called to a place or put into a situation just to be shut down but God does and He will use it for his good. So be obedient to your call and the mission that God has you on and don't get angry or frustrated when things don't work out as you want just trust that God is working in it. It's okay to dust of your feet and move on.
