Proverbs 18:2 Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions.
3 When wickedness comes, so does contempt,
and with shame comes reproach.
These verses break my heart because it seems that the world is more and more filled with fools and wickedness. Social media, news media, movies and TV are filled with people airing their own opinions and being filled with contempt. There is constant shaming and reproach of those who disagree with their opinions. The goal for most people is to make themselves look better and make others look worse according to the world's standard. As believers we are to strive make ourselves better according to God's standard but when it comes to social media even we get that wrong sometimes. I am not surprised at how bad things are getting, as we have been warned that things will continue to get worse until Jesus' return. Often this makes me wish that Jesus would just return now but most of the time it makes me more desperate for those I love to receive the truth and turn to Christ now because we have no idea when he will return but we know that each day it gets closer and closer.
