NUMBERS 34:1-36:13

Numbers 34:1 The Lord said to Moses, “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:

God has been very clear on what the boundaries are for the laws governing the interactions with Him and each other are for the Israelites. Now He is also clear on the boundaries for the land that He is giving to the Israelites. He has also given us boundaries. Some that are very specific and others that are not as specific. He has given us His word that reveals to us the boundaries that he has set for us. He has also given us His Spirit to clarify for us things that are debatable. We are fortunate to have freedom in Christ to live a broad a fulfilling life. Much of our boundaries are boundaries of the heart. There are things that are sinful for some and not for others because of the state of their heart and their spiritual maturity. There can be things in one person's life that causes them to turn from God or to continue down a path that leads to destruction that for someone else may not influence them at all.

There are many things that we can all list that would fit this category.

Numbers 35:34 Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the Lord, dwell among the Israelites.’”

When we invite sin/death into our lives we defile the land that God lives in. His Spirit lives in us and the blood of Jesus was shed to cover our sins so that He can dwell in us. This makes me want to be very aware of the boundaries that God has set for me so that I might walk with Him and not do anything that would insult that glorious gift. I know that I will never walk in perfect obedience to Him and I am so grateful for His grace and mercy when I stumble.
