March 18, 2024 - Decisions, Decisions

Numbers 26:52-28:15

Luke 3:1-22

Psalm 61:1-8

Proverbs 11:16-17

Numbers 27:So Moses brought their case before the Lord, and the Lord said to him, “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.

What a great example of how everyone including the church should handle concerns that are brought to the leadership. The opinions of the people in this culture would have never considered giving an inheritance to the daughters. So when Zelophehad's daughters came to Moses with their request if he could have said no I am sorry that is not how it works. But instead he went to God and asked what do you want us to do about this. I think it is easy to make decisions based on history, tradition and our own feels on a situation and I think if we would look to Christ more often for our decisions we might be surprised by what He has to say.

Lord please remind me of the importance of seeking your will and direction in my decisions. As someone who processes information quickly allowing me to make quick decisions I pray that you would direct me and guide me in doing so. You have created me with this ability but you have also given me the gift of faith so I ask Lord that you would remind me to seek your confirmation.

We did this song in church today and I really loved it and think it is a great song for the season. Also as this song says I am yours, I am forever yours. Help me to live that way so that my decisions would be made as I respond in faith and submission to you.
