March 27, 2024 - By His Mighty Hand

Deuteronomy 7:1-8:20

Luke 7:36-8:3

Psalm 69:1-18

Proverbs 12:1

Deuteronomy 8:10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.

I struggle with remembering to pray before meals. This reminds me that I can pray after the meal as well. Perhaps my full belly will be a reminder to "praise the Lord [my] God for the good land he has given [me]." Living in a land of plenty we forget how good we have it. No matter how bad this country gets or how poor a person is there is always help available if you are willing to accept it. There are food banks, food stamps, free meals provided by churches and organizations and more. Even our poorest people have more than the richest people in some other countries. It becomes so easy to complain about what we don't have and worry about getting what we want we can forget how greatly we are blessed to be in this country.

Deuteronomy 8:17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

It is not by my hand or power that I have what I have or live where I live but by His mighty hand and I praise and thank you Lord.
