1 Samuel 17:47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
David never considered it to be him who was fighting the battle. He had given the battle up to the Lord and in doing so he had no fear in facing the giant. He also had no doubt of the victory. I am going to apply that to you my battles with temptation. I have been fighting that battle on my own and losing. But if every day I remember that the battle is the Lord's and trust Him in it I can be confident in the victory. And when He wins, I will be sure to give Him the glory.
Lord God, you know my weaknesses and my struggles. I have proven that I cannot fight the battle on my own. When giant like temptation roars like a lion in my ear the battle is Yours and You can overcome the giant and bring it to the ground and shut the mouth of the lion. Help me to remember this in every battle I face. Remind me as many times as You need to and give me ears to hear it and a heart to receive it. A heart for you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
