May 16, 2024 - The Conflict of Truth in Unbelief

1 Samuel 18:5-19:24

John 8:31-59

Psalm 112:1-10

Proverbs 15:12-14

John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

Truth! As a believer Jesus who is truth will set you free. Jesus, who is truth, shares His truths with His words in the bible. But as an unbeliever you will not hear the truth. You will not be willing or able to hear or understand truth.

Look at the world how difficult it is to understand how society can be doing and believing so many ungodly things and so many things that are harmful to themselves and others. The truths in the bible are words not just to live by but the words that tell you the best way to live. So for a believer it is mindboggling to me when I hear what the world is teaching and preaching. It sound like insane nonsense. And to the unbeliever that is what truth sounds like to them. I guess in light of Jesus words here I should not be surprise and realize that prayer is all we can do because only God can reach the lost. Truth conflicts with the lies that unbelievers are believing and only the Holy Spirit can give them eyes to see and ears to hear it.
