September 11, 2024 -Conspiracy Theories

Isaiah 8:1-9:21

2 Corinthians 12:1-10

Psalm 55:1-23

Proverbs 23:4-5

Isaiah8:12 “Do not call conspiracy

    everything this people calls a conspiracy;

do not fear what they fear,

    and do not dread it.

13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,

    he is the one you are to fear,

    he is the one you are to dread.

When we are looking to the world for our information and decisions we can get caught up in a lot of lies. Conspiracy theories are abundant. I see so many people who are so focused on media and the conspiracy theories that it separates them from God and other important relationships. It's easy to get caught up in them. It is better not call conspiracy on things just because others are. Instead go to God and His word to decide what is right and true. Conspiracies promote fear, dread, hopelessness and desperation. Ask yourself what heavenly benefit is there in my focus on those things. God is the only one worth your concern. He is where are focus should be.

Psalm 55:2     hear me and answer me.

My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught

    because of what my enemy is saying,

    because of the threats of the wicked;

for they bring down suffering on me

    and assail me in their anger.

Conspiracies are used by the enemy to cause us to feel troubled and distraught. Don't let the evil one win. No matter how many ways he may attack, there is help.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord

    and he will sustain you;

he will never let

    the righteous be shaken.

The Lord is our hope and strength. He will sustain you so that you will be able to not let any of the enemies lies trouble you.

2 Cor 12:7

Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
