September 17, 2024 -Shelter of His Wings

ISAIAH 25:1-28:13

GALATIANS 3:10-22

PSALM 61:1-8

PROVERBS 23:17-18

Psalm 61:3 For you have been my refuge,

a strong tower against the foe.

I long to dwell in your tent forever

and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

On my last day in NYC as I prepare to hit the road to go back home after a whirlwind weekend of activity, I am grateful for the shelter of the Lord's wings over me. I am grateful that He reminded me of who He is. Who I am in Him. And how I can rest in Him. I came into this weekend feeling stressed and distracted but He turned my face to Him and gave me a weapon of Praise. Now I can look back and can say "For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe." Because the enemy would have loved for me to be distracted from God and from the joyous occasion of my daughters marriage celebration, but that did not happen. I can also say " I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings." Because I want to remember this always. Especially when I am stressed. When I close my eyes, I can picture Jesus robed arms wrapped around me as He leans forward and covers me.
