ISAIAH 3:1-5:30

2 CORINTHIANS 11:1-15

PSALM 53:1-6

PROVERBS 22:28-29

Isaiah 5:11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning

    to run after their drinks,

who stay up late at night

till they are inflamed with wine.

I have been praying for God to reveal to me things that are keeping me from walking more fully with Him. Today this has stood out to me as an answer. I have never made a habit of drinking often but recently we have some new friends that do drink often. Also our time spent with them is frequently in places where drinks are available and ends in late nights. This I think does interfere with my walk with Jesus. Not just drinking but the late nights can affect my time with Him the next day.

Lord I know that I want you to be more important to me than anything else. Please help me to make the right decisions on how to spend my time. Help me to remember to think about you when drinks are available so that I don't drink just because it's there. Show me the best use of my time that I would put you first. Allow the light of Jesus to shine in my life as I make choices that are different than I have in the past. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

I’ve been praying for awareness of my time spent with the Lord, as well, lately. I may not drink, but have other areas where I’m numbing like on my phone with reels and even games that can take up much time in the day.

Others have mentioned this as well to me. It’s a theme of God touching our hearts and asking us to visit with Him.
